Do you want to hear about my little aliens?
So much for staying away from everyone's germs. I got a phone call while I was at the studio today. My mom was sick at home, and I was to go buy medicine and come home to a house filled with GERMS! Well, I came home to a nice surprise... remember Andrew's surprise for me at the hospital? I'm sure my mom would not appreciate me sharing the details of her at her lowest, so I'll just stop there.
Oh yeah, you're reading because you want to hear about my little aliens. You see, I have these 2 students who are quite studious. Drew refers to them as "graceful socialites... the life of every party they attend." Anyways, with the studio starting, and me having to spread out my time and energy in my life, I realised that I wasn't as prepared as I could have been for my piano students at home. These two girls score within the top 5% of RCM students taking exams in Canada on every exam they've ever done with me, so the expectations that the parents have are really high. Anyways, I ended up rushing these 2 girls through their theory in order to complete everything in time for their exams. I graded several of their mock exams, as I do everytime in preparation for an exam, and they never reached over 80%. They kept making LOTS of stupid mistakes that we usually have time to fix, but this time we didn't. I thought to myself, "oh crap, now I've really screwed them over." I checked the marks online today, keeping one eye closed because I had failed them as a teacher. They scored 95% on one exam, and 98% on the other. "How in the world did they do that?!?!," I asked Andrew... he replied, "they are little aliens." I am glad they are aliens... it makes teaching much easier. That might also explain why they never talk... they simply don't know the English language ;)

Good job...if it were me though, I would've got them 100% each...that is, if I knew how to teach piano! :)

Wow, that's great. Though, I don't agree with Drew's theory. I believe they are just taught by a very competent person... actually, maybe persons, cause their parents must be doing something right with them to compensate with their "rushing" teacher. :P
