nevermind by how much...

... the point is that I passed! I am officially done piano lessons for the rest of my life! Yep, my diploma will be coming in the mail soon enough. Man, I was so nervous when acrobat was loading my exam critque, breaking down all of my mark. I had to get over 70% in every category, so that was the nerve racking part cuz I only got 72% as an average, not necessarily meaning that I passed... Thank you, GOD! So Drew let me choose where to eat din din in celebration of my passing my exam. I chose Towa... yum yum... but we didn't see Iginla even though it's thursday night...

My ankle is also officially better. I guess Drew was right about it healing faster with the ice. I iced it for 1 night and it was back to normal size by the next day with no pain. Go figure! Today he's sunburnt from Sikome with DVBS... so when I told him to go buy some lotion with aloe vera he refused to. I finally convinced him to get some, by saying that I was an expert at this kinda thing since I was in Hawaii (only he'd fall for something like that)... but it took way too much work... shoulda just let him suffer ;)

#1

As noted by one of my frequent blog visitors, it seems I haven't been blogging much... Well, our soccer has been going okay... but last week was horrible... I think it's the most competitive I've ever been. After losing our football game on last Monday night, I brought all of my frustrations to the soccer game, only to be beat once again... As of yesterday, we are 6-3 for soccer, and 2-1 for football. I remember wanting to quit soccer cuz I detested the sport itself, and I thought we'd just lose every game... Looks like I was wrong, and I actually quite enjoy playing now... anyone up for another season in Sept???

So this week's been a good start. Despite half our team dropping out part way through the season, and us having to scramble to find new players, the football team that we played against on Monday was nice enough to let everyone on our team score a touchdown, and make a big run of some sort... Yes, I had my big run, and I was running for dear life... My brain shut down, my fear took over, and I apparently had a run that included doing a 360 somewhere inbetween... I did it without even knowing it until my teammates told me afterwards... The good news is that WE'RE #1!!! in the league so far... mind you, we've only had 3 games so far though... Unfortunately the upcoming teams that we're going to be pitted against for football are going to be hard. But so far, so good... we got 2 easy teams, and mercied them... and when one team is remotely good, we lose... haha... hence, our one loss. Hard to believe that my ankle was rolled a week ago, cuz it's back to it's big swollen size. I know, I know... my mom told me not to play any sports, but my team needed me!!! Well, it got worse from football, and now it's big and hurting again.

My plans to go to HAwaii before school starts in September have fallen through:( I can't find anyone to go with me, but I suppose it's all for the better... I can get my heart ready for school instead of brainlessly tanning on the beach, watching all the surfers come out of the ocean. Tomorrow is Sikome Lake... I suppose it's as close as I'm going to get to HAwaii... sigh... had some initial thoughts to fly to Vancouver Island... but only initial... anyone interested?

rolled

Yep, swollen ankle. I wish I could say that it was during a glorious play with the winning goal, but no... It was before the game even started and I wasn't even running that fast for the ball as someone passed it by me. I stopped abruptly and there went my ankle. Crack times three. I sat for a while, but once game time started, I was back on my feet... It was an awful game of running for me... I've never run so hard before... Man, I am getting competitive... I think it was the combined anger from the loss on Monday night football... but it was a frustrating game for me.

Took the kids to Lake Bonavista today for the afternoon. They went wild... and they wanted to stay for the whole evening too... unfortunately for them, I was starving and wanted to go home for dinner... They came over for pizza and a movie and then I drove them home.

I get the full day off tomorrow! YAY! I have lots of plans... Costco, Superstore, JesusExpo stuff, soccer game (yep, I'm still gonna play... but don't tell my mom cuz she said I'm not allowed to). I also anticipate lots of sleeping.

Now... off to Timmy's for that large double double steep tea!

11:32pm

Finally! An early night home... wow, I was aching tonight... I think my body has finally given out. Tonight's soccer game was brutal considering I was already falling asleep during the day at Adventure Zone with the kids. The opposing team was good... friendly, but good... they had skill... which I lack. It was really hard to keep up with their guys, and they actually passed through my legs twice... yep, not once, but twice... brutal! I had a bad cramp within the first half, and by the second half it had spread to practically everywhere in my body... I was pooped... (Does anyone know whether eating before gives cramps??? Cuz usually I don't eat beforehand, but this time I had Chinese food about an hour before the game...) We lost 4-0... but if we look at the bigger picture, we're still 2 wins, and 3 loses... better than I expected.

Yesterday's football game was a bit better... we won 64-34... mind you, that was no help to me..... my "butter fingers" were in full works last night. I caught 1 conversion and 1 other one. But it felt like there wasn't enough playing time even with only 1 sub... kinda sucked... but I guess I get to go easy, unlike soccer.

Tomorrow I paint our washroom... plans made between my dad and I since last week. It seems the be the only full day that I have open... and that's only because it's kids day tmw at the STampede and the kids that I have all cancelled. Joy.. painting wtih my dad. And then my mom requested a day of my time... for what you ask??? To clean out the garage and basement... Another joy... if you know me, you know how much I like dirty-ness, and germs, and mouse poo, and spiders, and dust, and messes that aren't mine... all of these can be found in our garage and basement.

i suppose...

I suppose it's time to update. At Geo's house right now, and read his blog about our 2nd winning soccer game. He didn't even mention me... gee whiz. HAHA.

Tmw is Stampede day. Drew's back has been out lately, so I'm not sure if we'll go for the whole day... probably just half.

I can't believe it's the week's end. The week seemed to be long... not slow, but long, and filled with "stuff". Hard to believe that it's only been 1 week of DVBS, and even harder to think that I was only there for 3 days. Football season starts this monday. Already have plans for sushi afterwards... yum yum. I think football is going to be hard. We played with flags last wednesday, and it was impossible to take a flag... so we ended up trying to practice taking flags off, and so the object of the game became trying to be the last one standing with flags still on. If you stole someone else's you could claim it as your own, and add it to your belt. Man, I was exhausted after about 2 minutes of it. Way harder than actually playing football. I'm hoping that our football team makes it to playoffs... but I'm scared that I'm gonna be disappointed... so maybe I shouldn't expect... but man, I want that t-shirt that says "league champions" ;) It would've been an advantage if our team at least got 1 practice together, but everyone was always busy... oh well, we'll see how we do. I'll keep you guys posted... especially since geo and milty won't be on top of it like they are with the soccer stuff:P

time...

Nothing new to update on... we won finally won our first soccer game last night... a good feeling. I hate losing. Yesterday was DVBS at Riley Park, and surprisingly I didn't tan... maybe my skin only tans to Hawaii's sun???

Apparently I've been doing some sort of sport for the past 7 days... doesn't feel like it though... I think it's the sun that makes me want to go outside, and take advantage of the weather.

So Drew and I went to the "Event coordinator" meeting today... it was 1.75 hours full or boring-ness. We basically went through some booklet full of what to do before the game, during the game, and after the game... how to read the permit for the field, and stuff like how important our role as event coordinator is, alongside with naming off our sponsors. Good thing there were 2 summaries at the end that took a long time, cuz I don't know what I would've done with the rest of my evening if the meeting were any shorter. Oh well, I got a red t-shirt out of it... now I'm looking forward to Sat.... but kinda not too... I think I really enjoyed soccer more when it was just me and Jenny cuz our skill level is about the same, and I didn't have to always sub just cuz I thought the other girls could do a better job out there.

Tomorrow is the Science Centre... man, I'm not looking forward to having to keep track of all my kids at different stations...

7/13

7 out of 13 of us got upset stomachs after eating at Denny's last night. Geo, you missed a part in your blog where you were telling us at Denny's how you were going home to sit on the toilet.

As I got ready for bed last night, I thought... that was a weak workout... I'm not even tired, nor am I sore. But this morning when I woke up, boy did it take a lot of energy to roll over. I'm not sore... just my muscles are fatigued. Tonight is kickball... That should be fun... I hate it when they use that over-sized ball though, it ruins the game.

I get sushi for lunch. yummy...
